Brother James's Air (Marosa)
James Leith Macbeth Bain
Set for Winds #79014W-DD
Arranged for Quartet with Mix 'n' Match Parts
Brother James’ Air is a beautiful setting of a familiar Scottish hymn tune. Written by James Leith MacBeth Bain, or ‘Brother James,’ as an accompaniment for the 23rd Psalm (The Lord is My Shepherd), it was first printed in London in 1915. Originally titled Marosa to honour the seventh daughter of a friend whom he had christened, the melody eventually came to be known by its present name.
An amazing resource for any musician, Music for Four is perfect for String Quartet, Mixed Quartet, Three Violins & Cello, Piano Quartet & More! Comes with score and 6 interchangeable parts - the keyboard/guitar part encompasses parts 2, 3 and 4. Therefore, the arrangements could be played as a piano quartet, or an entire quartet could play with a pianist - as long as Part 1 is being played.
The following 9 parts plus score are included in the set:
Part 1 Flute or Oboe or Violin
Part 1 Clarinet
Part 2 Flute or Oboe or Violin

Part 3 French Horn or English Horn
